Privacy Policy
Your information
Semko Contracting Ltd. ("we") is a home and commercial builder at 2502 30th Ave, Vernon, BC V1T 2B3. This section explains what personal information semkocontracting.com collects, why, who sees it, how long we keep it and how to reach us about it. We handle personal information under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect what you type in: your name, phone number, email address and message. With it we record the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser type, so we can spot spam and abuse.
When you browse the site, we don't ask you for anything. Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages, and we use your IP address to work out your country and province so we can show you the right cookie choices. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only as described under Cookies and similar technologies below.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and talk with you about your project.
- To keep a record of our conversations with clients and prospective clients.
- To protect the site and the form from spam and abuse.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
Who sees it
Your form submission is emailed to our team and kept in our website's administration area, where only Semko Contracting and the agency that maintains our website can see it. We also rely on a few service providers to run the site:
- Cloudflare hosts the website, stores form submissions and runs Turnstile, the spam check on our form, which looks at your browser and IP address.
- Kinsta hosts the system we use to manage the site's content and keep form submissions.
- Adobe Fonts supplies the site's typefaces: your browser requests them from Adobe on each visit, which shares your IP address with Adobe. Adobe Fonts sets no cookies.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions for as long as we need them to respond to you and to keep a record of our work, then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your choices and how to reach us
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it. Email pasemko@live.com, call (250) 308-1907, or write to us at the address above. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Cookies and similar technologies
1. Who we are
This website, semkocontracting.com, is operated by Semko Contracting ("we", "us"). 2502 30th Ave, Vernon, BC V1T 2B3. You can reach us at pasemko@live.com.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and SDKs; in this policy we call all of them "cookies". Some cookies are placed by us (first-party cookies) and some by third parties whose services we use (third-party cookies).
3. Your consent
When you first visit semkocontracting.com from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Quebec, we only set cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work. All other cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, are switched off by default and are set only after you give your consent through our cookie banner. You may accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose category by category. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and your experience of the site is not degraded if you refuse.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time by opening Cookie settings, which is also linked in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Your choice is stored in a cookie named cookie_consent for 6 months, after which we will ask you again.
The legal basis for strictly necessary cookies is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3)). The legal basis for all other cookies is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); Quebec Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, s. 8.1 and 14).

3. How we use cookies and how to opt out
By continuing to browse semkocontracting.com you agree to our use of the cookies described below for the purposes described below. We do not show a consent banner on first visit in your region; instead you can opt out at any time by opening Cookie settings, linked in the footer of every page. Your choice is remembered for 6 months in a cookie named cookie_consent.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or Quebec we instead ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie.
We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Some of the advertising cookies listed below may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under certain US state laws; opting out of the Marketing category stops that sharing.
